We may have just met, or you may have known me for a while, but I'm going to ask you to do something kinda weird...

For just a moment, I want you to close your eyes and imagine me dancing around the kitchen listening to my favorite soul singer while my daughter watches her favorite Japenese Animation. This is my life right now. Joy, peace, sufficiency and new paths of abundance. Makes me sing everyday!

Let me explain...

When I was dumped from my position as a document specialist and eventually opened up my own business academy and consulting business, things didn't exactly get off to a great start.

In other words, I was broke. I was living off of $488 a month is support payments from my ex-husband. I wanted better. I knew solopreneurship was the way. But what would be my plan?

You know those people that have a bunch of money and craft a well thought out plan of investment BEFORE they start their own business?

...well, that wasn't me.

I'm more of a "be resourceful and figure the strategies out along the way up" kind of lady.

I'll never forget when I called my sister on the phone, took a deep long enthusiastic breath and said, "Sis. I'm going to publish my own book, build a business online and teach others how to do the same...from scratch."

Her voice got stern and with concern in her tone she said, "Uh...what?!?!? I'm not so sure about how you think you're going to do that." She then drilled me with question after question.

I had answers but she kept having questions, so I finally said "WELL anyway... another thing," dramatically interrupting her questions, gripping the phone tightly in my hand as if I was holding her shoulders"

"...I'm not going back to a regular job either I'm going to do this full time."

*cue the record scratch*

Yup. I made up in my mind I was going to be a solopreneur. To say the first few months of "launching my own business" were tough would be putting it mildly. (You have to do the work. No short cut to this lifestyle.)

I was anxious. My family was anxious. They watched as I wrote my first book day after day. I Built websites and sales funnels sometimes at 3 o'clock in the morning. We ate $5 pizzas most nights. My daughter watched way too many Japanese cartoons just so I could post on social media, write sales letters and build a course to go along with my book.. Oftentimes, I wouldn't talk to anyone if they didn't have anything to do with me making a sale online. It was crazy! I wanted to earn money apart from a job, I wanted to shake those thoughts of being dependant on 401K, paychecks coming regularly and some sense of certainty . Because I Iknew it was a false sense of certainty. Being laid off showed me that any employer could rip my career right out from up under me. Can you relate?

I kept going...

...and then THIS happened.

With just a $10 investment on ads, in less than 16 hrs I made $1200.
I then did a total of 7,754 in 56 hrs.

*cut to me excitedly dancing around the kitchen while Japanese cartoons played in the background*

...and now? My sister retired her 27 year career in social services from training in my courses and is steadily growing online in the financial industry. She believed in me after all those questions and my journey helped her become a full time entrepreneur :-)
